ANURADHA SHARMA

Anuradha Sharma is an assistant professor of English at Navjivan Arts and
Commerce College, Dahod in   Gujarat . She has been teaching at this government college for more than twelve years. She writes poetry in English and Hindi, and her poems and research papers have appeared in journals, anthologies and news papers in India and abroad. At present she is working on a Minor Research Project funded by UGC and has been  selected for Associateship by IIAS, (Indian Institute of Advanced Study in Shimla, India). She is editing a book on Stephen Gill and also translating his epical poem The Flame into Hindi.

Anuradha  Sharma’s  research papers, articles, poems and talks are mostly about the plight  of women  in India. In addition to  her teaching and writing,  she is able to find enough time to attend seminars and visit remote villages  to make women  aware of their human rights  to ameliorate their educational, social and financial status to live with dignity.   She is involved with several organizations in different capacities to be in touch with Indian women closely. In spite of tough resistance from a section of establishment,  she continues the mission of her life. She is constantly in touch with women of every age and group  to give moral help and personal counseling .

Lately she has completed  a large volume of her manuscript in which she has successfully demonstrated that how the biased ideology of Pachtantra  and Manusmiriti have poisoned  the thinking of the citizens, standing  in the way of peace, harmony and prosperity of India. She believes that no nation can be called cultured in the true sense and cannot progress  materially  if the rights of women to survive with dignity are not properly recognized constitutionally and implemented vigorously.
